The U.S. Department of Defense Mark Center is a government office complex located next to I-395 on the west side of Alexandria, Virginia. The $1 billion project was completed in 2011 as the new home for the DoD's Washington Headquarters Service (WHS) and several other agencies. The facility was created as part of the U.S. military's ongoing Base Relocation and Closure (BRAC) program and resulted in the consolidation of over 6,000 jobs at the location.
