The 2012 Ryder Cup, the biennial team golf competition between the United States and Europe, will be held at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois. The #3 course at Medinah will once again be the site of a major golf championship, previously hosting the U.S. Open in 1949, 1975 and 1990 and the PGA Championship in 1999 and 2006. Medinah is located near several interstates and O'Hare International Airport, putting it within five miles of hundreds of hotel rooms. The captain of the United States team in 2012 will be Davis Love III and Jose Maria Olazabal will captain the European team.
