The 3,965 acres of the Gettysburg National Military Park comprise much of land where the Battle of Gettysburg occurred July 1-3, 1863. The park contains many monuments and memorials to military groups that participated in the battle and the states that sent soldiers. A museum and visitors center provides information about the battle and a self-guided driving tour takes you to all the major sites.
