Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1928. It is 15,000 acres of marshland and open water - visitors can only access it by canoe. The refuge is home to the white pelican, several kinds of herons, bald eagles and ospreys. It is part of the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge Complex.
