This turn-of-the-century Florida mansion, the Gaylord Palms Resort, is located approximately two miles from the shuttle to Disney and 15 miles from Orlando International Airport. The resort's signature four-acre glass dome reflects Florida's famous regions. Showcased are Saint Augustine, Key West, and the waters and cypress of the Everglades (complete with alligators). This Florida experience continues with the Art Deco South Beach swimming pool with cabanas and sand volleyball, Marine Pool with octopus slide and sandy beach play area, and 20,000-square-foot full-service spa (with 20 treatment rooms) and fitness center. Enjoy themed dining in one of the three distinct areas of Florida Everglades, Auggies Dueling Piano Bar, or Poolside Cafe and Grill. The resort also houses Retail Street with fabulous shopping and La Petite Kids Station, an on-site supervised kids program.
Keeping with the theme, the guestrooms are decorated in the style of Saint Augustine, Everglades, Emerald Bay, and Key West. All units have satellite TV, desks, refrigerators, hairdryers, safes, CD players, ceiling fans, coffeemakers, video game consoles, designer toiletries, irons, free local calls, and voicemail.
Note that a 10 resort fee is charged per night; it covers daily newspapers, bottled water/juice, high-speed Internet access, complimentary transportation to Walt Disney World, unlimited use of the fitness room, and free range balls at Falcon's Fire Golf Club.
