Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge was created in 1908 was the first U.S. refuge created for the protection of waterfowl. The refuge comprises over 50,000 acres on the California/Oregon border. Visitors can view waterfowl and other wildlife from the 10-mile auto tour. It is part of the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge Complex.
