Voyageurs National Park comprises most of the Kabetogama Peninsula and some surrounding lakefront areas in northern Minnesota along the border with Ontario. While there are extensive hiking and skiing trails on the auto-accessible south side of Kabetogama Lake, the vast majority of Voyageurs is water and land only accessible by boat. Public boat ramps are available at the park's three visitor centers: Rainy Lake (at the northwestern end of the park), Ash River and Kabetogama Lake (both on the southern edge). Voyageurs is about a 5 hour drive north of Minneapolis/St. Paul and four hours southeast of Winnipeg.
