Sushi At Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort

And not just any old sushi, we’re talking about a $2.5 million sushi bar.  Okay, the $2.5 million is the total cost for an upgrade of the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort lobby, which includes the addition of the new “Korals” sushi and cocktail bar.  Korals opens today, September 25, 2009.

Marco Island is on Florida’s Gulf coast, south of Naples and it’s the southernmost major resort area on the coast.   And the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort Golf Club and Spa has been a favorite of many who have visited the island.  It’s right on the beach, with nothing between you and Texas but a whole lot of water.

And now you’ll have a great view of that water through the Korals floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Gulf of Mexico.  Look inward and you can’t help but notice the “custom-designed, 11-foot tall, three-foot wide, 3,600-pound aquarium column”, home of some Hawaiian Moon Jellyfish, known for “their unique coloration and adaptability to various environments”.  Very cool.
