New York Gets A Taste Of Indigo

The Indigo hotel chain now has it’s first property in New York with the opening of the Hotel Indigo Chelsea.  It’s located in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood (duh), making it close to the city’s art, fashion and flower districts.  As has been the case throughout the development of the Indigo chain the goal in Chelsea was to create “a top-notch property that provides an upscale guest experience at an accessible price-point”.  Translated: it’s a trendy place with not-too-outrageous room rates.

Located at 127 West 28th St., between 6th and 7th Ave, the Indigo Chelsea New York is a 20-story hotel that should provide a boost to the local nightlife and dining scene with “Blu”, its restaurant serving “American-bistro fare with a local perspective”, and “Glass Bar”, a rooftop lounge with great views of the New York skyline.

There are 122 guest rooms with two penthouse suites.  Guests can enjoy oversized beds, plush bedding, hardwood-style flooring, and spa-inspired showers with Aveda products. Each guest room also includes a 32-inch HDTV, an iHome docking station and a “fashion-inspired wall mural”. Guests are provided complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and access to the 24-hour business center, meeting space and 24-hour fitness studio.
