In the final six weeks of 2009, Westin Hotels will add six new hotels around the world. Three are opening in India, one in China and two in the United States. 111 of the current 163 Westin properties are in the United States and this represents part of a plan for more international expansion in the future.
The Westin Washington Dulles Airport is located in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC near – wait for it – Dulles International Airport (IAD) . The Dulles Access Road – for airport users only! – gives speedy access to DC, about 30 minutes away.
It’s pretty easy to figure out where you’ll find The Westin Lake Mary Orlando North. Lake Mary is a fast-growing area north of Orlando and not terribly far from all the Orlando metro area has to offer.
The new hotels in India can be found in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune. The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace is a big 428 room hotel located near the center of the Raheja Mindspace IT Park. The Westin Mumbai Garden City has 269 rooms and is located on the Western Express Highway, not far from Mumbai International Airport and Bollywood. The Westin Pune Koregaon Park has 277 guest rooms and suites, including some WestinWORKOUT rooms that let you exercise in the privacy of your room.
The Westin Tianjin is part of a mixed-use development in China that will also include residential, retail and office space. There are 275 guest rooms and suites, plus 1,575 square meters of meeting space (for those of you who are “metrically challenged” – us included – that’s just under 17,000 square feet).
In 2010, Westin plans to open 12 more facilities in Canada, China, Greece, Japan, India, Mexico and the United States.
