The latest addition to the Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center complex is the Hyatt Place Long Island East End. This new 100-room hotel not only offers the most convenient place to stay for visitors to the aquarium, it also adds a new resource for those planning weddings, meetings and other events in eastern Long Island. The aquarium and hotel are on the banks of the Peconic River in Riverhead, New York.
The Hyatt Place Long Island East End features complimentary WiFi internet access throughout the hotel, free continent breakfast, a 24/7 kitchen for room service and the Bakery Cafe. The Sea Star Ballroom (scheduled to open later this year) is located between the hotel and the aquarium and will offer over 5,000 square feet of space for meetings, weddings and other gatherings.
The Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center (formerly known as “Atlantis Marine World”) is a very popular attraction for visitors to the eastern portion of Long Island. It includes all the indoor and outdoor aquatic exhibits you’d expect from a major aquarium, plus an excellent batch of “interactive experiences”. Visitors can get up-close-and-personal with penguins, swim with sharks (from the safety of a cage), take a tour boat through the neighboring Peconic River and Flanders Bay, get kissed by a sea lion, walk through a salt marsh and much more.
