Stamford Sheraton Opens in Connecticut

Stamford, Connecticut – a popular spot for corporate headquarters in the New York metropolitan area – received an addition to its hotel stock when the Sheraton Stamford opened a couple of weeks ago.  The Sheraton is located on the east side of downtown Stamford, just a couple of blocks from I-95 and the new Stamford Town Center retail complex.

The Sheraton Stamford is the result of a multi-million dollar renovation of a former Holiday Inn, with thorough upgrades to the lobby, restaurant and guest rooms.  The old-but-new hotel features many of the latest Sheraton amenities including the Link@Sheraton social/internet area in the lobby, the Link Cafe, Sheraton’s Sweet Sleeper beds and the Club Lounge for those who choose to stay in one of the rooms in the hotel’s Sheraton Club Level.

The hotel’s on-site restaurant is called 700 Main and promises a “variety of traditional American fare” to those who choose to take a meal at this very nicely renovated spot.  They offer a breakfast buffet daily.  More casual dining and liquid refreshments are available in the 700 Lobby Bar.

Nearby businesses in Stamford include corporate offices of General Electric, Philips, Royal Bank of Scotland, UBS, World Wrestling Entertainment – and the future home of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts headquarters, the Sheraton parent company.

The Sheraton Stamford is one of over 60 new Sheratons scheduled to open in the next three years.  You can find the Sheraton nearest wherever you’re going at TheRealPlaces.com.
