Hilton Alexandria Mark Center Renovation Complete

Hilton Mark Center Alexandria exteriorThe multi-million dollar renovation of the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center hotel is now finished, resulting in upgraded hotel rooms and meeting space.  The hotel offers the best possible location for anyone looking for a place to stay near the Department of Defense Mark Center complex – it’s right next door.

The modifications to the Hilton Mark Center began with redesign of the 496 guest rooms, completed in the summer of 2011.  The new rooms include the Hilton Serenity bed, HD TV’s and an improved workspace with ergonomic chairs.  Since then they’ve been concentrating on upgrades to the hotel’s “public spaces”.  They now have 55,000 square feet of meeting space, all benefiting from new carpet, wall and window coverings and art work.  The lobby has also been redesigned to the Hilton brand’s latest specifications, with a new “soothing” color palette and a lounge with multiple televisions and comfy seating.

Meeting space at the Hilton includes the Plaza Ballroom, executive meeting center and over 10,000 square feet of outdoor space around patio gardens and a gazebo.  On-site dining is available at the Finn and Porter restaurant (specializing in seafood and steaks) and the Sushi Bar.

Accommodations range from king and double standard guests rooms to much more luxurious suites.  The Executive Level comprises the top 3 floors of the 30-story Hilton Alexandria Mark Center.

The hotel is located adjacent to both I-395 and the Department of Defense’s new Mark Center office complex.  The Mark Center opened in 2011 as the new home of several DoD agencies, including the Washington Headquarters Service and the DoD Inspector General.  It was all created as a part of the military’s Base Relocation and Closure (BRAC) program.
