The Marriott Marquis Houston is scheduled to open in December. Located across the street from the George R. Brown Convention Center, it will also be two blocks from Minute Maid Park, home field of the Houston Astros. The Toyota Center arena is only slightly farther away, three blocks south of the hotel.
Swimming and water-based relaxation will be available several stories above street level, overlooking Discovery Green Park. There’s a “lazy river” that follows a Texas-shaped path and a heated infinity-edge pool. Pure at Marriott Marquis Houston is the on-site spa offering a full set of relaxing treatments.
The 29-story building includes king and queen guest rooms plus a wide variety of suites: Presidential, Vice-Presidential, Luxury, Hospitality and Parlor. The complimentary fitness center is open 24 hours a day and features cardiovascular equipment and free weights.
Biggio’s Restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner. Lunch and dinner will also be available at the Cueva wine-and-tapas bar and the High Dive poolside bar and grill. The Texas T coffee house will be open throughout the day, offering coffee, tea and pastries. And, last but not least, casual dining will be available at Walker Street Kitchen for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Meetings, weddings and other events can take advantage of the 153,303 square feet of event space at the Marriott Marquis Houston. The Texan Ballroom alone is almost 40,000 square feet of reception and banquet space. There are 52 additional rooms that range from small conference rooms to configurations of over 13,000 square feet.
