With a couple of weeks having passed since our major update to the format of the city hotel pages at TheRealPlaces.com, we’ve had an opportunity to check out the impact of those changes – and make some more improvements.
The biggest change is that we now provide a separate page containing a large map of all the hotels in the city – and nearby locations. There’s a link to the “city hotel map” page found on each city’s page. For example, if you visit our Washington, DC hotel page and click on the small map on the left side of the page, you’ll be taken to the new map of hotels in the Washington, DC area. In this particular case, it makes it easy to consider places to stay in suburban Virginia and Maryland as well as in DC itself. Works just as well for many other cities and towns.
We’ve also improved the aesthetics of the basic city page. We think it looks a bit prettier and provides new information about each of the top hotels in the city. See the results on examples such as our Dallas, Minneapolis and Birmingham pages.
Independent of, but related to, the changes to our city lists, we’re now offering weekly top hotel deals in Arlington, Texas (home of the new Dallas Cowboys stadium) and current top hotel deals in Branson, Missouri.
