Cheeca Lodge & Spa Reopens In Islamorada, Florida

After an 11-month “renovation vacation” the Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada, Florida is set to reopen on December 15, 2009.  The Cheeca has been one of the Florida Keys’ most luxurious spots to stay since 1946 and the new upgrades only make it that much more memorable.

Both of the hotel’s restaurants, Atlantic’s Edge and Nikai Sushi, have been thoroughly redesigned to give things a fresh new look.  They’ve announced that Atlantic’s Edge will now be under the “creative direction” of award-winning chef Dean James Max.

Rooms and suites at the Cheeca Lodge & Spa range from the grand “Premier Oceanfront King Suite” to a variety of ocean-facing and island-facing rooms, suites and bungalows.  Many of the rooms are in the new “Main Lodge” building that was the focus of the rehabilitation that was necessary after a fire in December 2008.
