As the result of a $35 million makeover the former “International Plaza Resort and Spa” has become the Doubletree Resort Orlando – International Drive. With 1,094 rooms it’s the larges piece of the Doubletree hotel chain. It’s located less than 5 minutes from the Orange County Convention Center and SeaWorld.
$35 million will buy you a lot of renovation, so visitors will find refurbished guest rooms featuring a “Balinese-inspired” theme of contemporary dark-wood furnishings. There are three swimming pools on the hotels 28 acres, as well as three places to find something to eat (both indoor and outdoor). Event planners will find over 60,000 square feet of meeting space at the Doubletree.
Accommodations range from one- and two-bedroom “Resort Guestrooms” to “Premium Accommodations” that include kitchenettes.
