Baseball Spring Training Hotels

Now that football season is (finally) over, many sports fans will start thinking about baseball and, specifically, “spring training”.  For diehard baseball fans the words “pitchers and catchers report today” are what they’ve been waiting to hear since the end of the World Series.  These days teams are evenly split, with 15 training in Florida (the “Grapefruit League”) and 15 in Arizona (the “Cactus League”).

While many fans will be going to seeing exhibition games this year, those who root for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks have something more to look forward to: a new stadium and training facilities in Scottsdale, Arizona.  It’s called Salt River Fields at Talking Stick and it’s shared by the Rockies and the D’Backs.  Located on the far eastern edge of Scottsdale, it’s adjacent to the Talking Stick Resort and golf course.

The 140 acres of Salt River Fields provides enough space for each team to have six practice fields and their own clubhouse, as well as the shared 11,000 seat stadium for games.  Access by car is easy, it’s all located adjacent to the Pima Freeway (Route 101).

In addition to providing all you need to know about hotels near Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, TheRealPlaces.com has a complete guide to nearby hotels for the spring training sites of all 30 Major League Baseball teams.
