Indigo Comes to Baton Rouge

The first hotel from the trendy Indigo hotel chain to open in Louisiana is the Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge Downtown.  They’re now accepting reservations for guests arriving April 1st and beyond.   The hotel is located only a block from the banks of the Mississippi River and offers convenient access to all of downtown Baton Rouge.

This new Indigo is the result of a $25 million transformation of a building that was originally a hotel (back in the 1920’s it was the “Hotel King”), later became a dormitory and then a Louisiana state office building.  The “no two Indigo hotels are alike” concept makes this redevelopment project perfect for the chain, putting a very modern “boutique” hotel inside an older building with “great bones”.

93 guest rooms are distributed within the hotel’s seven floors.  Views are either of the Mississippi or downtown Baton Rouge.  Rooms feature comfy bedding, HDTVs, “spa-inspired” showers and hard-surface floors covered with area rugs to give it all the feel of a high-class home.  Food and drink is offered on-site at the new King Bar & Bistro.
