Hilton Head Holiday Inn Becomes Holiday Inn Resort

Swimming pools at Hilton Head Holiday Inn OceanfrontThe Holiday Inn Oceanfront in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina becomes The Beach House – A Holiday Inn Resort in March.  It’s more than just a name change, it reflects a new emphasis on being a “family-friendly” resort destination.

All 202 guest rooms at the Holiday Inn have been given a makeover as part of the hotel’s $5 million renovation program.  The hotel’s beachfront location means that the “Oceanfront View” rooms really do offer a great ocean view.  (There are also “Standard” – i.e. non-ocean-view – rooms available.)

The design theme for the new “Beach House Resort” is bicycles.  Which might seem a bit odd until you realize the amount of bicycle fun that can be had in the area.  From the Holiday Inn’s front door you have instant access to Hilton Head Islands 50+ miles of bike paths and hiking trails.  The location just off of Coligny Circle puts guests within walking distance of a nice collection of restaurants and shops.

Food and drink are offered at Grouper’s Restaurant and the Tiki Hut.  Grouper’s specializes in local dishes including “Lowcountry” seafood favorites.  The daily breakfast buffet offers just about every imaginable breakfast item.  The Tiki Hut bar is right on the sands of the beach and offers a beautiful spot for beverages with friends and family.
