At one time, actually just 30 or 40 years ago, Orlando was a rather sleepy town in central Florida. The folks at Disney changed all that when they started buying up land for DisneyWorld. Now Orlando is the one of the biggest tourist destinations on the planet.

The Disney influence on Orlando continues to grow, with seemingly annual additions to Disney attractions. Not only is there the Magic Kingdom, there's also Epcot, Disney MGM Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island, several water parks and even more.

Over the years other companies have jumped on the Orlando bandwagon, with the addition of the Universal Studios properties, SeaWorld Orlando and the Wet 'n Wild water park - even Dolly Parton, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and The Holy Land Experience have found their way to town.

Like many other parts of Florida, Orlando has also become a place to go for golf. There are several Disney-owned courses plus a large number of upscale (and not so upscale) daily-fee golf courses for every skill level to enjoy.
