New Meadowlands Stadium was the original name of the football stadium that opened in 2010 as the new home field of the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets. In 2011 it was renamed MetLife Stadium. It replaced Giants Stadium which was located just a few yards to the west. Located in the Meadowlands of New Jersey, the stadium seats over 82,000 for football and has 218 luxury suites. Built as a joint project by the Giants and Jets, it cost around $1.6 billion to construct.
