Soldier Field is the stadium on the shores of Lake Michigan that is the home of the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). The original stadium opened in 1924 as Municipal Grant Park Stadium. Soldier Field was closed in 2002-2003 to allow it to undergo a thorough modernization project. The "New Soldier Field" looks like a modern stadium has been built inside the walls of the old column-lined exterior or, as some say, like a large spaceship is hovering over the stadium.
