Hotels For Sports Fans

It’s that time of the year when all the major sports are on the radar of sports fans – baseball season is heading down the home stretch, football starts in a few weeks, even basketball and hockey are in the news as teams make changes in their personnel for the 2010-2011 season.  Here at TheRealPlaces.com we’ve been reorganizing some of our pages of special interest to sports fans, including our pages containing information about hotels near MLB baseball stadiums, hotels near NFL stadiums and hotels near NHL arenas.

Major league baseball’s pennant races are heating up and we can show you where to find the best deals on hotels near the top teams in Chicago, Minnesota, Texas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Cincinnati and San Diego.

Our page for those who are looking for hotels near NFL stadiums has been upgraded to what we think is a much more user-friendly format.  All 32 teams are represented and we’ve got all you need to know about hotels near New Meadowlands Stadium, the new home field for the New York Giants and New York Jets.

Our NHL hotel page has also been redesigned to make it simpler to find places to stay near the games of your favorite hockey team.  And we’ve added hotel information for Consol Energy Center, the new home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

And stay tuned for hotel information for NBA fans, NCAA football fans and NCAA basketball fans, coming soon to TheRealPlaces.com.

Hotels Near Target Field in Minneapolis

The newest addition to the group of 30 stadiums that are home Major League Baseball games every year is Target Field in Minneapolis.  After 28 years under the Metrodome, the Minnesota Twins will brave the elements starting with the 2010 season.  We’ll be a bit disappointed if we don’t get a couple of “snowed out” games every April!

We’ve added this impressive new stadium to TheRealPlaces.com and made it very easy to find the best deals on hotels near Target Field.  The park is in the Minneapolis “Warehouse District” so there are several nice hotels located just a few blocks southeast of the stadium.  Target Field also has its own stop at the north end of route 55 on the Hiawatha Light Rail system, so it’s an easy trip from any of the 19 stations located between downtown Minneapolis and the Mall of America – coincidentally, the mall was built on the site of the Twins’ original home, Metropolitan Stadium.

Looking for places to stay near other MLB stadiums?  You can find links for all 30 teams on our page of hotels near major league ballparks.

NFL And MLB Stadium Hotel Lists

Expanding on our earlier attempts at making it easier to find hotels near major sports venues, we’ve now added single-page lists of hotels near NFL football stadiums and hotels near Major League Baseball stadiums.  Sometimes stadiums (stadia?) aren’t in the cities you’d expect them to be (for example, the Jets and Giants aren’t in New York, they’re in East Rutherford), so these pages make it easy to find hotels close to any stadium, ballpark or field you might be planning to visit.

More Major League Baseball Stadiums Added

Today we discovered a few major league baseball stadiums weren’t represented in our collection of “landmarks” and quickly rectified that oversight.  Baseball fans can now use the resources of TheRealPlaces.com to find hotels near Busch Stadium in St. Louis (home of the Cardinals), hotels near AT&T Park in San Francisco (the bayside stadium where the Giants play) and hotels near Nationals Park in Washington, DC (where the Nationals currently struggle mightily to gain respectability).
