The Hyatt Place Pittsburgh-North Shore opened last week, adding 178 pretty spiffy new rooms to the Pittsburgh hotel market. Located on the riverfront with views of downtown Pittsburgh, the Hyatt Place is within a short drive of the many corporate headquarters and other businesses in the downtown area. It’s a particularly good location for fans of Pittsburgh’s outdoor sports teams: both Heinz Field (football stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers) and PNC Park (home of baseball’s Pittsburgh Pirates) are within walking distance.
This is the third Hyatt Place to open in the region, catering to both business and leisure travelers. It offers some “upscale” amenities including 42″ HDTV in every room, the “Hyatt Grand Bed”, an 8-foot sleeper sofa, complimentary wifi internet access, free continental breakfast and complimentary shuttle service to Pittsburgh International Airport. The Bakery Cafe offers Starbucks coffee, as well as beers and wines.
